Good morning everyone! The Legion Golf Tournament is one you really do not want to miss, trust me on this. Forms are all above. Save the date: 6/11/2010. Please note the start time will be in he morning but that the finalized time depends on whether we reach the 100 mark so that we can have a shotgun start! Steak on the grill follows at the historic George R. Bean Post.
Does anyone have access to the following? I guess this would mean inflatable’s, posters, etc. Please contact Jim at e-mail address shown. Thanks!

Hello
Here are the sheets for the golf tournament. There are two ” golfersignup2010 ” sheets one for 10am start and one for a shotgun start. Same thing for the ” golf_flier_2010 ” sheets one of each. Please forward to Ken Guilfoyle, I do not have his email address. If every one could check to make sure every thing is good on the sheets that would be great. If there are no changes then every one can forward them to who ever needs them. We just don’t know if it’s going to be 10am or shotgun ?
Thank you
Ken

Hi everyone, couldn’t let the day go by without at least one e-mail, covering two subjects…… the first one is covered by the above attachments from Thom Ford. The second one is below from Mike Best, my good friend. Mike, good luck with this venture, good stuff. The life you save could be TRiz’s or anyone of us!

Thank you, I think this network is helping me and others to get the word out.
Thank you Again

TRiz,
I have recently become certified as a CPR, AED, and First Aid instructor through the American Heart Association.
A friend of mine, who is a State Trooper, and I have come together to teach these life saving skills to corporations, day cares, and anyone who wants to learn.
If there’s anyone in the network who has the influence to get us into any of these places to teach, it would help us get our business off the ground.
We offer competitive pricing, on-site instruction, and we supply all necessary training materials.
Hopefully someone here is able to help our business succeed.

Hi Everyone:
After sending out the e-mail to you yesterday requesting that you write to Weymouth’s own Tim Walsh, a Navy Corpsman assigned to a Marine unit in Afghanistan, who was recently injured over there, I am writing in request that you (those of you who are local) get the letters to me so that we can include them in a package that will be mailed to Tim by Carepacks.
You can of course mail letters direct to Tim, but I thought this was a nice offer from Carepacks and makes things convenient.
See Steve’s e-mail to me below.
So, you can mail direct, get letters to Carepacks or run them through me, as my office is near to Carepacks I will be with them for their next mailing. I handed my letter to Steve just this morning. Thanks for all you do in the “network”.

Hello Tom, We were on Tim’s case yesterday, I spoke with Tim Walsh’s Dad, Brian yesterday we are purchasing clothing items such as sweats and such as well as entertainment items for him and shipping within the next week or so. His Dad also got a lot of items for him which were collected at W. Roxbury District Court by Brian’s co-workers when they heard the news, we are also shipping these.
If people would like they can get the cards & letters to CarePacks and they can ship with the packages. If so, lets do this by 3/28 at the latest.Otherwise they must fill out a customs form to get the letters out of country, and cost is also more than a stamp.
Lets be cost effective, CarePacks gives the PO plenty of $ without everyone else too.
Gotta get up pretty early to beat CarePacks to the punch!
Thanks, Stephen Doyle

Re: Night to remember Good Morning Tommy, I am going to run another add for donations for new or slightly used gowns. The problem comes when the guys don’t have the funds for Tuxedos and the cost for everything else. I was thinking of trying to see if people either wanted to make a monetary donation or sponsor a student.
It usually costs each student around $200.00 for the prom and that is for just the basics. I have one florist (Toss Bouquet) who has bee extremely generous in the past years making the students their corsages or boutonniere.
Like I said I will be running an add very soon in the Weymouth News for donations. To answer your question we could use what ever help you can give. This is the typical lists of expenses that the students usually face.
Dress/Tux Shoes Hair/Nails Pictures Flowers Ride to the prom is very expensive but most kids try to share a limo.
Thanks for any help you can give or any ideas you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great day Kathleen Knudsen Weymouth High School Security

Hi Tom, I had a phone conversation with the mother of a young Navy Corpsman who is in Afghanistan and has been injured by an IED. His name is Timothy Walsh and he is the son of Brian and Maureen Walsh from South Weymouth. His Mom says he is doing fine and is expected to fully recover. He is doing so well he remained in Afghanistan and will be reunited with his unit. That’s the Great News.
What people should know is that When they were hit, Tim suffered injuries to his face and side and also was wounded in both legs to the bone. One of the Marines with him was blown into a ditch and received serious wounds to his face and eyes along with other injuries. Tim leaped into the ditch and in spite of his own injuries administered first aid to the marine and stayed with him until they were both evacuated to the field hospital.
Tim spent 4 days in the hospital with the marine until the marine was evecuated to Germany and then back to the US. When Tim spoke to his Mom he told her that the prayers of everyone back home are working that only something from heaven saved them that day.
What a young man he is. I look forward to the day I can meet him and personally thank him. I’m hoping that all those in the TRiz network will send him a card or letter and show him how much we all care about him and his buddies. His address is:
HM3 Walsh,
Timothy 1/3C.CO 3rd PLT.
UNIT 44030
FPO-AP 96607-4030
Let’s fill this young man’s mailbox with well wishes from home.
Thanks Frank
See you there everyone! TRiz will out past the time they turn on the street lights twice this week!

Good morning everyone. Betsy Harris brings us the above attachments for your consideration. Looks like a kind of mini-TRiz potpourri of altruistic importance.
To my fellow Rotarians, sorry if I went on a bit during Happy Bucks, but when I saw only Rose Wilson in line behind me I just had to take the wheelhouse. How I went from the President’s table to one which the staff was tempted to not put linens on in just one week is beyond my comprehension. I guess I need to call back AnnMarie Sullivan in order to be important again. Brian Haggerty please call AnnMarie for me. Brian you are a dead man when I get the microphone next Happy Bucks!
I would like to mention the formation of a new Rotary Softball Team. I was appointed General Manager by the “Secret Society of the Dark Nights of Rotary”. We are having a “name the team” contest. Those in contention so far are “The Rotarian Roaches” (seeking Steve Certa, Watch All as a uniform sponsor) and “The Rotarian Rottweiler’s”. Please bring your suggestions to next weeks meeting. Brian you better get clearance from the board before truly forming the team.
Speaking of next Monday’s meeting, IT IS IRISH NIGHT, with THE BLACK VELVET BAND! Why not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day twice next week? That is right, if you are a friend of a Rotarian (hello, that would be me) then for $25 you can buy a ticket which gets you a meal (corned beef & cabbage, etc) and entertainment next Monday from 5:30-9. Band starts at 6. Please contact Donna Foster at donna_foster@comcast.net TRiz & Dan Toland will be dressed in our Leprechaun outfits.
Speaking of Dan Toland, the short pamphlet “What I Have Done For Rotary This Year” autographed by Dan, will be available next week for $1.25. Only kidding my friend. Dan does want me to tell all the young single ladies in the TRiz Network (at last count I have no count!) that Dan is “available”. Dan is the kind of guy that will take you to Hawaii ladies. The unfortunate thing about that is that he will meet someone else there and return with them! Oh, I am sorry Dan, you are an easy target my over-talented friend.
Speaking of young ladies, we welcome Leanne Hindy to the TRiz Network today and we have a request of our restaurateurs out there that Leanne is seeking employment in the restaurant world, nights, if you know of anything, please contact Leanne @ 781-414-1137 or go digging for her e-mail here!
Tom Tanner, thank you fro putting me in charge of the remaining Rotarians when you left last night. Thanks also for the donation of the veterans plot. Good man!
TRiz also welcomes Paul Johnson to the magical world of TRizville.
Have good day, collect keys, corks, pull tabs & bottle caps please.

Hello my network friends. I would like to welcome Joe Pelland (That’s Italian Too in Weymouth), Rita V. and Betsy Harris to the TRiz Network! Look for some follow-up from Betsy for her involvement in Weymouth High School. We’ll be looking to find community service work for high school kids and we’ll be asking for assistance for “A Night To Remember”. Stay tuned for more info to follow.
OK, that being said, WE HAVE SOME WATERFRONT LAND FOR YOU (at least a short walk to the beach). Please see the info below submitted by Sue Wright on behalf of her sister Jan. Make contact with them (see below) if you or someone you know is interested.
The “Take A TRiz to Lunch Fridays” program is working so well that it inspired the “Take a Rotarian to Lunch” program and now we have the “Take Your Local Veterans Agent to Breakfast” program. Since we have only one Weymouth Veteran’s Agent that makes things easy! Frank Burke will be experiencing a Moose Sunday morning breakfast on 3/14/10 with TRiz. Next Friday’s “Take A TRiz to Lunch” is sponsored by my friend Steve McDermott of Steve McDermott Electric here in Wey. The TRiz Salmonburger will probably be my meal of choice. Chris DiMambro, next time you make new menus please refer to it as such!
Speaking of the Moose Family Center, good work on helping the Wey Elks, the gracious hosts of last Wed-nite’s BOSS meting. heavily attended, doing great, look for an item in an upcoming Wey News. Starr Keefe, ER, thanks! www.bossnet.ning.com Sign up!
Welcome the following new members of The Patriot Squadron of the ANA, Association of Naval Aviation: Sean Maloney, Sean Guilfoyle, Ken Guilfoyle, Ray Jennings, Dan Toland (Dan does everything I tell him to do, but he really does have a good mind, don’t be afraid to talk to him sometime). http://www.anapatriotsquadron.com/ For $15 become a member and support the history of our Naval Air Station going forward.
PLATELETS….. that’s all I’m gonna say. Donna/Becky at Red Cross Braintree 781-794-1800 Maryann, thanks for “holding my hand” two weeks ago there! I am “under the needle” tomorrow at 9:30AM.
Is Lent over yet?
Hey my prayerful people, would you pray for my friend Bob “Moose” Frazier who was headed to Afghanistan last Monday? Also he is looking for people to DVD-record Red Sox games to send over. Carepacks, can you hear me on that one, thanks Steve/Rick.
OK, if I say anymore I may confuse some of you. Good day! Whoops, once last thing, Eric Jacobson, I volunteered your services to help “website” the Weymouth Elder Support Council as I mentioned at Rotary. Please contact Lucille Sorrentino at lsorrentino@weymouthhcc.com Thanks my friend.
