Weymouth Family FUNraiser!

GIVING… on Sept. 18, 2010

Walk, Run or Bike for Weymouth… a community that cares!

Weymouth FUNraiser is all about the family structure, family values and helping others.  To that point, our goal is to have fun and raise money for those in need.  All monies will go to Weymouth Rotary to be distributed to the many organizations that need our help.

We are having a fun day on Saturday September 18, 2010 by holding a 2.5 mile walk, a 5k or 10k run and a 10 mile or 25 mile bike ride.  This is not a triathlon nor a race, rather an event that you can enjoy at your pace, by yourself, with your family and friends or with co-workers.

We will begin and end at South Field (old Weymouth Naval Air Base) on Route 18 in South Weymouth.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT and we hope to make this a successful event this year and for many, many years to come!

For more information, please visit our beautiful website: www.FamilyFUNraiser.org or contact Erik at 617-966-4181 or Erik@Up2Night.com

I knew I was missing something! Anyone that can advise Bob Gaffney, a Navy veteran who protected us while playing “Nearer My God To Thee” in the Navy band, please get to him at the e-mail address provided in the attached segment, below. Also, Ray Jennings took care of John Riley, no further assistance needed directly on that one. Thanks - TRiz Ps. to Bob Gaffney, do not go down with the ship, that is the Captain’s duty. Man the lifeboats!

If anyone has a good idea for a portable pump that can pump water out of a basement that would be great (besides a sump pump).

I am about to whack the Network with a series of water issues. Please refer to it.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO WATER ISSUES TONIGHT’S IRISH NIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. SEE BELOW. PLAN B IS NOT IN PLACE YET, MEANING WE WILL PROBABLY LOOK TO FIND ANOTHER NIGHT TO HAVE THIS IF POSSIBLE. Donna, I will call the band right after this e-mail goes out.

Next, I am taking a lot of calls on this issues and I need some help please. If anyone has a wet vac that they are not using could you please call Nancy Hall @ 781-337-4350 to coordinate our borrowing one. This is right across from my office.

Next, I need someone with powerized “twin gun” python-like biceps to help me lift John Riley’s wet vac from his basement in E. Weymouth. Please call my cell for which to help me, 781-706-9920. If one of our members is near John, 25 Cassandra Rd. please call him at 781-337-4885 if you can get there faster than me.

I hope I am not forgetting anyone else that is stranded. Pontoon boat rides in my back yard have been cancelled due to this local emergency situation!

Subject: Irish Night Cancelled
To: Thomas Rizzo, Rotary Club of Weymouth
It has been reported to me that Whitman’s Pond water level has extended to the back door of Hajjar’s and is covering the handicap ramp. Due to the weather forecast of continued rain for the remainder of the day, I have made the decision to cancel Irish Night this evening. We will look at our schedule regarding another date.
Please follow the phone chain also to ensure all members receive this notice. Please call the individual whose name follows yours in the book and anyone else you feel like calling to let them know.
Please let me know if you have any questions

Robert Lynch
Rotary Club of Weymouth

If you have not seen this (see below). I recommend you read & sign up, I did.

On another note, hope that you have not had water problems as a result of all this rain. If you need my help call. We have volunteers through the BOSS Network and we also have vendors such as Bostonian Cleaning and Servpro, whom I have relationships with. Let me know.

I was looking out over the “back 40″ (that would be “feet” not “acres” BTW) of my estate/dude ranch on Forest St. this morning and I could not believe the amount of water. I will be giving river rides by boat this PM if anyone would like to tour the aquarium, estuary, gazebo, bocce court (coming, summer 2010), obstacles course that make up part of the land at my “Northern” house.

Have a good day everyone. Hope to see many of you at Irish Night at Wey Rotary (Hajjar’s) tonight. TRiz on the dulcimer, you don’t want to miss it! Come on, come out, you look so sad….. you need a good time!

TRiz www.triznetwork.com A warm welcome to JT of Weymouth Health Care Center. Welcome aboard my geriatric-loving friend.

Subject: Fw: Here one that deserves some attention.

Finally, some good news to act on!!.

Forward this as fast as you can!

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan..

It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!

Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana!
Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and Sign his petition (very simple - just email).

I have just done just that at:
http://fleming.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=55

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congress should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

To do otherwise is the height of hypocrisy!
Please pass this one!!

Hi everyone! I hope you (by now) have pushed forward your clocks. I had to hustle for Mass this morning! I still got there in time to tip over the tables of the money-changers though. Hey, please take this time to change the batteries in your smoke/fire/carbon monoxide detectors, please! OK, now I am going to act like your father (except to the “old man table” at Rotary) … check your auto inspection stickers and also your plate registration stickers to make sure they are up-to-date! Check your brake lights (was just behind a friend with one “out”) and blinkers and also your drivers license! I am sure to bag one or two of you with these things so hop to it! I would like to thank Steve McDermott (McDermott Electric) for the March 13 version of “Take A TRiz To Lunch Fridays Program”. Those who know him know you always get a “charge” out of Steve. Steve can be reached at 781-389-0738 and is a “preferred vendor” of the TRiz Network (not just because he took me to lunch)! I would like to thank Paul Grasso for picking up the tab of the Tom Rizzo “Take Your Favorite Veteran’s Agent to Breakfast Program” held at the Moose Lodge this morning. Frank Burke, a new Moose himself, was loving it! Inspired by these programs I last night invented the “Take A Rotarian Out Bar Hopping Program”. I will not indentify the Rotarian in order to protect the innocent. Please note that you have to do this with a designated driver. Do not try this at home. We went seven different places, believe it or not, a TRiz record. I would like to sent a shout-out to Maryellen (whom I called Maryann last night, on “O’Doul’s too!) at Kelly’s Landing, the fourth stop on the tour! Wendy at Greer’s was the seventh & final location. Wendy will be joining the TRiz Network this week! O’Doul’s non-alcoholic sales remain strong although I notice most places either don’t carry them or they have to “dust them off”. Can you say skunk?! Answer to the TRiz Trivia question that I never asked you….. did you know that Network member Steven Wayne Spencer is related to Winston Churchill? Steve, you & Winston are both a couple of my all time favorite historical characters. Super time at Reverse Karaoke last Thursday night at Main Street Grille! Congratulations on a job well done young George Raymond! Tickets still available for the Black Velvet Band at Rotary (Hajjar’s) tomorrow night. You know me already….. that and $25 will get you in at 5:30. The band is great, the laughter will flow! Corned beef & cabbage. OK, I realize your short attention spans. TRiz Please check below on the Manny Ramirez Raffle. Problem is that I don’t know which event this is for. Dear God, Sean Maloney help me. YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK OUT THE CALENDAR SECTION OF www.triznetwork.com It is somewhat updated. Get me your event to post! I probably should not have asked that in front of Betsy Harris, there will be no room for other events! I will be holding a seminar to teach all of you how to be in three places at once. Look for more info to follow. Scroll down please…… ________________________________________ From: Anne Marie Gavoni [mailto:agavoni@yahoo.com] Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2010 5:27 PM To: Thomas Rizzo Subject: Sean asked me to send you this!! Tom, These are the pictures for the boss website of the Red Sox picture for the raffle. If you have any questions just let us know. Thanks so much for your help! Sincerely, Anne Marie Gavoni & Family Final note…….. Subject: Power of prayer Did you know that during WWII there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace? There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for a return to a Godly nation. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Please forward this to your praying friends.

Would love to see my non-Rotarian friends come to this next Monday night. Please call Joe or Donna for tickets. Great meal, great band. TRiz on the “hammered dulcimer”! I normally wait until after Lent to play the “hammered” dulcimer.

Some sad breaking news, the church I attend, Holy Family Church in Rockland has had a roof collapse w/i the past hour. Please say a prayer for the safety of life, limb and property. Thanks. TRiz

This is a friendly reminder to sign up for Irish night. This counts as a regular Club Meeting for attendance purposes; however, it is a social evening and we are all more than welcome to invite spouses, family members, significant others, co-workers, friends, etc…..We will not have our usual business portion of the meeting, such as announcements, happy bucks, etc. We can all relax and enjoy the music of the Black Velvet Band or you can dance and sing, if you desire.
I am encouraging you to sign up through Club Runner; however, if that is an issue, please contact Pat or Donna Foster. As this is a social function, it is important for us to have a count to let Hajjars know, so if you are planning to attend, with or without any guests, please sign up to ensure an accurate count.

FYI all! Gearing up early for the fireworks on July 3rd with this advance fundraiser for the cause (see above attachments). Great gift idea, just like the Weymouth Auto Raffle tickets for the drawing on 5/21/10! I may have to put my mother on the Happy Bus! I wonder if they are playing Partridge Family tunes on the ride down?

Last call for reverse Karaoke tonight at Main Street Grille, home of the TRiz Salmonburger!

A shout-out to Bob Maynard, Columbian Street Auto Sales, for bringing in all those keys for Keys For Hope to my office yesterday!

Reminder, Weymouth Rotary Blood Drive 4/5/2010!

Subject: 4th of July Fund Raiser –Mohegan Sun Trip on April 10th
Hello Cousin(s)……attached is a flyer for the Weymouth Fourth of July Committee’s first fund raiser for the Fireworks and Celebration to be held on July 3rd at Wessagussett Beach.

This bus trip to Mohegan Sun has been a popular event for us and the people seem to really enjoy it and it has filled up quickly in the past.

We would appreciate your assistance in getting this info out to all of your friends and members.

It’s also been mentioned that we should advise people that this is a great gift for Mom for Mother’s Day and Easter for older Easter Bunnies and good practice for the runners for Boston Marathon ( not quite sure on this one?)!!!

We know that this is going to be a very tough year for fund raising so we are getting started early this year.

Any questions call me all my contact info is on the flyer!!!

Cousin Ron
