WELCOME TO MAY! May showers begin our month but nothing could dampen the spirits of the many volunteers that gave of their time for the Pleasantville clean-up project on 4/29/12. Thanks to Candace Lowe, Mike at Weymouth Housing and his excellent group of workers, Steve Doyle, Sean Maloney, Ray Jennings, Lois Drukman (camera work) & of course Rotarian Chris DiMambro for supplying the food! Thanks also to George Brady and the Weymouth Eagles for water/soda, etc. The Civil War General emeritus Ric Ward was there leading the charge with a shovel instead of a sword. You are the best Ric. Thanks to Moose members (Greg, Ric, Kevin) and brother Bill McFarland of the Elks! Citizens of Pleasantville were also “hands on”! If I have missed anyone I apologize and I will make you person of the month in my next Post!
May brings more exciting and benevolent events. Check out the BOSS NETWORK on Facebook for more info or contact me at trizzo230@gmail.com. Also if you scroll down to my March Post you can learn how to join my Constant Contact if you wish!

As we enter March it is hard to believe how quickly the year marches on! After “blowing up” the Network e-mail system I am making the effort to become used to using “Constant Contact” which I am not yet into full swing.
To get my Constant Contact notices please e-mail me on my new e-mail address: trizzo230@gmail.com !!!! My business e-mail address of trizzo@ddinsurance.net should be used only for insurance matters.
To join by text simply text from your cell phone the keyword TRIZ to 22828. Enter “to” 22828 and type the keyword triz (not case sensitive) in the message space. Then Constant Contact will send you a message asking you to reply with your e-mail address. Simply type in your e-mail address to join!
What a tremendous BOSS network meeting hosted by our friends at the Weymouth Eagles on 2/23/12 (Rotary Internationals birthday BTW) resulting in some great charitable networking. Look for the BOSS founders on Quincy Access Television, Ruth Jone’s Health Link Cable Show, airing 2/29/12 and “beyond” to learn more about BOSS (Benevolent Organizations of the South Shore).
The Weymouth Rotary Auto Raffle is heading down the stretch! Please contact myself or your favorite Weymouth Rotarian for your $100 ticket and a chance to win your choice of a 2012 Ford Mustang Convertible or $20,000 cash!!!!!!!
Look for T-Riz and the Showtime DJ’s (Kev & Brian) every Friday night at FRG (Fore River Grille) through springtime for dinner and dancing as part of our primavera tour! Music starts at 9PM. Plush new seating in the loge section of the “Drunken Osprey Lounge”.
The American Red Cross in Braintree invites you to call Becky or Donna at 781-794-1800 in order to give platelets. Come on down and give to save lives!

GIVING… on Sept. 18, 2010
Walk, Run or Bike for Weymouth… a community that cares!
Weymouth FUNraiser is all about the family structure, family values and helping others. To that point, our goal is to have fun and raise money for those in need. All monies will go to Weymouth Rotary to be distributed to the many organizations that need our help.
We are having a fun day on Saturday September 18, 2010 by holding a 2.5 mile walk, a 5k or 10k run and a 10 mile or 25 mile bike ride. This is not a triathlon nor a race, rather an event that you can enjoy at your pace, by yourself, with your family and friends or with co-workers.
We will begin and end at South Field (old Weymouth Naval Air Base) on Route 18 in South Weymouth.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT and we hope to make this a successful event this year and for many, many years to come!
For more information, please visit our beautiful website: www.FamilyFUNraiser.org or contact Erik at 617-966-4181 or Erik@Up2Night.com
Welcome to April my friends. Primavera, ah Springtime! I would like to wish you a Happy Easter!
There are many upcoming events so please check out the calendar section. We have the Bob Lasky fundraiser on Sunday March 28, Weymouth Rotary Blood Drive on April 5. Lot’s of things going on.
Pease keep our service men & woman in your prayers! Please help package things with Carepacks.org at the Braintree Moose Lodge on April 10!
Enjoy!

I knew I was missing something! Anyone that can advise Bob Gaffney, a Navy veteran who protected us while playing “Nearer My God To Thee” in the Navy band, please get to him at the e-mail address provided in the attached segment, below. Also, Ray Jennings took care of John Riley, no further assistance needed directly on that one. Thanks - TRiz Ps. to Bob Gaffney, do not go down with the ship, that is the Captain’s duty. Man the lifeboats!

If anyone has a good idea for a portable pump that can pump water out of a basement that would be great (besides a sump pump).

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO WATER ISSUES TONIGHT’S IRISH NIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. SEE BELOW. PLAN B IS NOT IN PLACE YET, MEANING WE WILL PROBABLY LOOK TO FIND ANOTHER NIGHT TO HAVE THIS IF POSSIBLE. Donna, I will call the band right after this e-mail goes out.

Next, I need someone with powerized “twin gun” python-like biceps to help me lift John Riley’s wet vac from his basement in E. Weymouth. Please call my cell for which to help me, 781-706-9920. If one of our members is near John, 25 Cassandra Rd. please call him at 781-337-4885 if you can get there faster than me.

Subject: Irish Night Cancelled
To: Thomas Rizzo, Rotary Club of Weymouth
It has been reported to me that Whitman’s Pond water level has extended to the back door of Hajjar’s and is covering the handicap ramp. Due to the weather forecast of continued rain for the remainder of the day, I have made the decision to cancel Irish Night this evening. We will look at our schedule regarding another date.
Please follow the phone chain also to ensure all members receive this notice. Please call the individual whose name follows yours in the book and anyone else you feel like calling to let them know.
Please let me know if you have any questions

If you have not seen this (see below). I recommend you read & sign up, I did.
On another note, hope that you have not had water problems as a result of all this rain. If you need my help call. We have volunteers through the BOSS Network and we also have vendors such as Bostonian Cleaning and Servpro, whom I have relationships with. Let me know.
I was looking out over the “back 40″ (that would be “feet” not “acres” BTW) of my estate/dude ranch on Forest St. this morning and I could not believe the amount of water. I will be giving river rides by boat this PM if anyone would like to tour the aquarium, estuary, gazebo, bocce court (coming, summer 2010), obstacles course that make up part of the land at my “Northern” house.
Have a good day everyone. Hope to see many of you at Irish Night at Wey Rotary (Hajjar’s) tonight. TRiz on the dulcimer, you don’t want to miss it! Come on, come out, you look so sad….. you need a good time!
TRiz www.triznetwork.com A warm welcome to JT of Weymouth Health Care Center. Welcome aboard my geriatric-loving friend.
Subject: Fw: Here one that deserves some attention.
Finally, some good news to act on!!.
Forward this as fast as you can!
On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan..
It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!
Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana!
Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).
Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and Sign his petition (very simple - just email).
I have just done just that at:
http://fleming.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=55
Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congress should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.
To do otherwise is the height of hypocrisy!
Please pass this one!!
